Keshet
4.10.09, 6:00 pm Seder
Keshet is open to all who identify as LGBT Jews as well as their spouses, partners, significant others, and good friends and family, whether Jewish or gay or not. This is our seventh annual Passover Seder using our own Haggadah that we’ve created to join the themes of the promise of liberation from Egypt with the struggles of LGBT people everywhere.
Because Passover coincides with Holy week this year, we moved the 2nd night Seder to the 3rd night of Passover as the church where we're having our celebration is holding service for Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Last Supper.
Our Seder includes both traditional and non-traditional readings and songs, Shabbat prayers, as well as a complete meal from hard boiled eggs and gefilte fish to matzah ball soup, chicken main course and dessert. The Seder will be facilitated by Laurie Brown and Jeffrey Lachman. A special treat this year will be the influence of Sephardic cuisine to the meal. And there will be prizes for two contests.
Reservations:
The cost is: $28.00/adult; $12.00/child under 13. Each year we’ve been full. So get your reservations in by March 28th, and by making your check out to Ira Forleiter (not Keshet) and mailing your check and contact information (phone and email address) to:
