4.15.07 Magical Mystery City-Wide Tour Kicks Off!

This website may have been snoozing in the month of March, but not the Urban Jews!

March held the kick-off of the Magical Mystery City-Wide Synagogue Tour. Over a dozen Urban Jews joined in on a spicy Indian meal at Swagat followed by a little stroll over to Havurah Shalom for a music-filled service. And never shy about dessert, the group skipped, hopped, and jumped over to a nearby bakery afterwards for tasty, late night cupcakes!

Don't miss the next stop on the Magical Mystery Tour. Temple Beth Israel's Friday night services on April 20th include a very special speaker. Location for post-services gathering TBD. Come and contribute your ideas for the Tour's future stops!

Be sure to check out our activities to learn more about upcoming Tour destinations, Shabbat Potlucks, and other chances to skip, hop, and jump.

11.21.06 Shabbat Potluck a rousing success!

'Twas the bomb. Seriously.

By all accounts, our first ever Shabbat Potluck went off without a hitch. A big thanks go out to Elana and Tammy for hosting this wonderful flagship event, and to everyone who attended for making it sparkle!

Did you miss the Potluck (like me)? Are you thinkin of coming to one in the future (also like me!) but not sure what it'll be like? Our very own Avi provides the following description of Friday's festivities:

"You know when you go to a party and everyone just stands around awkwardly? Well, this was nothing like that. Everyone was excited to meet new people and comfortable and interesting. I'm excited for the next one!"

Be sure to check out our activities to learn more about upcoming Shabbat Potlucks and other Jew-laden events in this here Portland, Oregon.
